Bentley Geospatial Server brings together information in spatial databases, drawings, business documents and other forms through a unique Federated Information Management approach. Information in enterprise databases, legacy and departmental systems, and project based data in virtually any format is accessible to users through a spatial interface.
Information is managed through a unique approach that relies on indexing rather than conversion of information to a common format. This allows information to remain in its original form where it can be found, viewed, and edited via your favorite tools launched directly from the Bentley Geospatial Server interface. It’s possible to use spatial and non-spatial criteria to find the information you are looking for, and ensure, with spatial referencing, that you never miss any information in a given area or location.
The Geospatial Server is the centerpiece of Bentley’s GIS Architecture and serves information to Bentley’s GIS applications. It relies on a collection of services ranging from Spatial Indexing and Searching to an extensive set of Spatial Database Services to Plotting and Publishing. Working together with Bentley’s wide range of desktop and industry GIS applications or Bentley’s wealth of AEC products, it brings to life a true distributed enterprise GIS environment for infrastructure.
