| Digital 3D gelogical maps for greater metropolitan areas of BH |

Gauss is pleased to announce that the project comes to digital 3D geopodloge for greater metropolitan areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This project is funded and ordered by BH Telecom dd Sarajevo.
For the purposes of planning and optimization of 2G, 2.5G, 3.0G networks as well as for purposes of planning and maintenance of other segments telecomunication systems, it is necessary to make accurate geological maps, which will provide a high quality display of the actual situation on the ground. Listed geological maps, with its quality, content and promptness will fully satisfy the needs of a modern approach to planning, designing, building and maintaining telecommunications infrastrukure.Most of countries in the area already disposed of such highly precise weather information and up-to-date orthophoto substrates made for the needs of urban planning, cadastre and land public infrastructure project. In Bosnia and Herzegovina these geological maps will be made using LiDAR technology, which allows recording of large areas in a very short time. LiDAR (engl. Light Detection And Ranging) is a laser scanner that provides high accuracy of field performance, as well as other accompanying contents (the height of buildings, forests, water surface). 3D model is provided by laser scanning terrain using LiDAR and the plane, with precise determination of its coordinates using GPS, which measures vertical rectify and distances to the large number of points assigned to the country. Data recording are used to create a 3D display that can be used for different surveying (ortophoto design) and GIS applications. Most recent geoinformation systems, which mainly originated digitize existing maps are two-dimensional. Fast development of computer technology and methods of data collection, such as LiDAR, GPS and remote sensing, provide the development of 3D GIS's increasingly available.
